Each Life Lived Under God’s Grace is a Testimony

You’re part of the history of the world and the history of God’s people. When you think of your life as insignificant a blip on the eternity screen, you’re forgetting how vital your role is. Each story of faith is remarkable. Each life lived under God’s grace is a testimony.

God sees you. Your heart, your faults, your gifts, your truth. You are a part of creation in motion. Those who came before and those who came after will never offer God or the world the gift of you. Give it and live it! Start to see what God sees in you!

The author of Ecclesiastes hungered to find the meaning of life. But as he examined wealth, labor, freedom, and decadence, he discovered that life itself was meaningless. “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). How can this fit with the faith journey?

Ecclesiastes illuminates the most important truth you can discover: There’s nothing of this world you can pursue that will give your life purpose and significance. Not money. Not success. Not a house. Not a picket fence. Not celebrity. Only the pursuit of God will give your life meaning. Following the way of God is the only journey that matters.

Dear Lord, I draw close to You today, grateful that You will draw close to me as You have promised in Your Word. I long to dwell in Your presence, and I want to know You in every way You can be known. Teach me what I need to learn in order to know You better. I don’t want to be a person who is always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. I want to know the truth about who You are, because I know that You are near to all who call upon you in truth.

In Jesus name I pray

Amen

O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Psalm 63:1

I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; But you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

John 14:16-17

Shelter Through God’s Arms

Are troubled skies forming? Are dark clouds covering your life? It can be a lonely experience to prepare for a personal storm. Maybe those you depend on most are the ones causing the earth to shake beneath you. Are the wild winds of fear, anxiety, or sorrow gathering inside of you?

When the sky does open up and the first drops fall, there’s shelter for you in the arms of God. He will carry you through this. He will protect you from what brews in your heart and what blows across the landscape of life as you know it. There is no trial or trouble, sin or sadness, defeat or depression that will keep you from God’s sweet mercy.

Just think…Visit you personal scrapbook. Where have you been, and who were you? What has God done in your life and through your obedience? How did he make something you tried to tear apart into something whole and useful? Are there parts of your life that never made sense until God put the pieces back together in a new way?

As people, We often think mistakes are absolute failure…as though redemption didn’t exist. You’ve come so far and not as a result of random collisions of right time right place.  God has brought you here. Recognize the journey and be grateful for it. Praise God that we have a wonderful loving God that is full of grace and mercy.

Dear Lord, I’ve been through this storm before, but when the winds start, it always sends me trembling.  Even though I struggle through the same problems and doubts, I always trust you and know you are right here with me. Only your love has carried me through the trenches of difficulty. Only your mercy has covered me. Only your intervention has saved me. Only your grace has redeemed me.  I thank you Father, for only you have brought me here. I know in the midst of the battle I don’t have to be afraid to face of the enemy. Thank you that even though the enemy tries to take me captive to do his will, You have given me the power to escape his snares completely. Thank You that You are my shield because I live Your way. Help me to not be overcome by evil, but instead give me the strength to overcome evil with good. Hide me in the secret place of Your presence from the plots of evil men. The enemy will never bring me down as long as I stand strong in You.

In Jesus name I pray

Amen

When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation.

Proverbs 10:25

You turned my wailing into dancing; You removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever.

Psalm 30:11-12

Sincere Love

Are you ready to put your prayer life to the test? It may be difficult for you to do, but I’m going to ask you to choose your number one problem person, and take him or her before the Lord in prayer. Then go a step further and ask God to help you show His kindness to the very person who hurt you, caused your pain, or may be making your life miserable.

Luke 6:28 says, “Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.” You’ll find you cannot hate a person you’re praying for. Try it. The Bible says love suffers patiently and is kind. Pray for God to fill your heart with His compassion as you walk each day and every step along the way with Him.

You’ve probably heard it preached a hundred times, but putting the command to “love one another” into action is not ordinary, it is extraordinary. This call to you as a child who belongs to God is to go one step further: You’re to love others in deed and in truth. Sincere love doesn’t pretend. It has no ulterior motives; it wants nothing from the one loved. If there is a person in your life who’s not receiving your sincere love, God is calling you to a love that costs greatly and requires effort. It’s easy to talk about how much you love God, but loving others reveals how much you truly love God. How are you measuring up? Are there any changes you plan to make in the sincerity of how you love?

Dear Lord, give me a heart for the one who trouble me, who pushes my buttons. I want to have Your view of that person, Your love for him or her.  Help me love the person who is difficult to love. Remove any judgment or past disappointments that keep me from offering sincere love to certain people in my life. Guide me in this pursuit of godly character. Release me from my negative attitude and preconceived notions so that I move forward with kindness, grace, and a vulnerable heart. I want to love with Your love.

In Jesus name I pray

Amen

And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. We love Him because He first loved us.

1 John 4:16, 19

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.

John 14:21
