Dear Lord, more than I need to be right, or perceived as perfect…I need you. I know that the life of faith isn’t about perfection. I want to free myself from the expectations of others so that I can live fully under the covering of your hope and grace. Show me what’s missing. Lord, I pray that you will have mercy upon me, according to Your loving kindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions…Create in me a clean heart….and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Show me the truth about myself so that I can see it clearly. Make me clean and right before You. I want to receive Your forgiveness so that times of refreshing may come from Your presence.
